Our Story

Finding Your Way

Most recovery programs focus solely on the "quit." At Guided Recovery, we focus on the journey.

We believe that substance use disorder is rarely just about a substance; it is often a response to deep human suffering, a way to numb pain when life feels like a constant storm. When you are in the middle of that storm, it’s easy to lose your bearings. You lose your connection to your values, your family, and your sense of self. We exist to help you find them again.

The Two Pillars of Our Practice

Our approach is built on the belief that lasting change requires two things:

Stability and Direction.

Rooted in Strength

Like a tree in a gale, you cannot grow if you don't have a foundation. We help you clear the ground—through supporting medical detox and early stabilization—and then we work on the "underground" effort. We help you build the emotional and psychological resilience (the roots) that allow you to stand tall, no matter what weather life brings.

Guided by Purpose

Strength is only useful if you know where to point it. We act as your navigational partner, helping you identify your True North—those core values that have been buried under the weight of addiction. Using our "Path-Mapping" process, we create a custom roadmap that leads away from the shadows and toward a life of meaning and clarity.

Why We Are Different

We don't provide a one-size-fits-all map because no two paths are the same. Whether we are discussing the latest VA research on integrated trauma care, the emerging science of GLP-1s, or the ancient wisdom of the "Allegory of the Cave," our goal is to find the specific tools that resonate with your biology and your story.

We aren't here to judge where you’ve been. We are here to guide you toward where you are going.

You Are the Pilot. We Are the Navigators.

We don’t fly the plane for you. Instead, we provide the high-altitude maps, the instrument training, and the real-time support you need to navigate the world with confidence. This is self-directed recovery. Whether we are mapping your "Biological Rebirth" or identifying your "Personal Legend," every step of this journey is about increasing your maneuverability and expanding your horizon.

The Horizon is Waiting

Recovery is the ultimate "Turnaround Strategy." It is the process of shedding the heavy, dead-weight cargo of the past so you can reach your maximum range. You have the resilience to clear the peaks. You have the strength to weather the crosswinds. You just need a clear heading. It’s time to stop surviving the weather and start flying the mission.

About Guided Recovery:
Meet Your Navigator

Most recovery programs offer a set of rules. We offer a map.

I’m Bryna Sisk, and for nearly 30 years, I operated at the highest levels of the corporate world. As an MBA and media executive, my job was to be a "turnaround architect." I specialized in walking into organizations in crisis, identifying the "fog," and engineering strategic paths to growth and valuation.

But the most critical turnaround I ever navigated wasn't in a boardroom. It was my own.

The Fog

For many years, I lived a life that looked successful on the outside but was crumbling within. I battled deep depression, the crushing weight of isolation, tremendous loss and despair, and a substance use disorder that felt like a permanent storm. I battled the injustices of life and my participation in them - everything I thought I knew to be true, I discovered was a lie. During this time, I was searching for myself and I later learned that through tremendous suffering, as humans, we are able to learn, grow, find knowledge and finally LIVE.

As a pilot, I knew the dangers of "spatial disorientation"—that terrifying moment when you lose sight of the horizon and your instruments fail. That was my life. I was flying blind, trying to numb the pain with alcohol that only served to fuel the turbulence.

Engineering the Turnaround

When I finally found my way back to solid ground, I realized that the tools I used to save multi-million dollar companies were the same tools I needed to save myself: Strategy, Metrics, Alignment, and Vision.

I founded Guided Recovery to bridge the gap between clinical treatment and real-world transformation. I combine nearly 30 years of strategic leadership with the hard-won empathy of someone who has walked the path of recovery.

Our Philosophy: Rooted & Guided

At Guided Recovery, we believe you are the pilot of your own life, but even the best pilots need a navigator. Our approach is built on two pillars:

  • Rooted in Strength: We focus on the "Internal Instruments"—your biology and your nervous system. From understanding the neurotoxicity of substances to utilizing the latest VA research on trauma, we help you stabilize your "vessel" so you can withstand the weather.

  • Guided by Purpose: We use a "Path-Mapping" process to identify your True North. We don’t just want you to stop using or engaging in harmful behaviors; we want you to start living a life that is so expansive and purposeful that the substance no longer fits in the cockpit.

Beyond the Resume

In my free time, you’ll find me in the backcountry, climbing big mountains, skiing, fly fishing in a remote stream, or navigating a float plane to remote mountain lakes. These places taught me that nature doesn't care about your past—it only cares about your presence and your preparation.

I am a catalyst for change, a strategic analytical thinker, and most importantly, a fellow traveler who knows the way home.

If you’re ready to stop flying blind and start navigating with purpose, let’s talk.
